Description

HTii (Holmes-Tucker International, Inc.) is seeking a System Architect to provide Mission Control System Architect Support of the Unmanned mission Control System (UMCS) Program Office located at Patuxent River, MD. This position is responsible to the PMA 268 IPT Lead for the development and implementation of standards that guide software design, key interface design, hardware design, communication and networks architecture design, development, and support of avionics systems.

Responsibilities and Tasking:

  • Act as liason with NAVAIR, Air Force and SAE International to evolve existing standards such as NIOP, PMS and UCS respectively
  • Assist functional SME’s (systems engineering, avionics, and SW) in implementing Open Architect specific requirements in solicitation documentation and specifications
  • Work with the Cameo SysML team to define the functional decomposition, ensure each Information Exchange Require (IER) adheres to the ICD’s
  • Work with software engineers, hardware engineers, communication/network engineers and systems engineers to develop the design of UMCS and coordinate with the Software Test and Integration Lab (STIL) for test of design approaches for execute-ability and efficiency
  • Architecture and design (hardware & software) and for the implementation of open standards in UMCS during the various phases of development, integration, test and evaluation, production, and upgrade.
  • Interfacing with the software open standards development teams to cycle input back into these standards based on implementation lessons learned
  • Review CDRLs that address OA and function along with the SW components delivered to ensure that OA requirements were adhered and that each CSCI meets the functional description and SV-6 (interface definitions) documented in the IARM, to the Tier 5 level
  • Technical Products:

ICD 001 (interface between AV and UMCS and interface between UMCS and CANES)

Develop the System Architecture Document, input to the System Integration Plan and System Engineering Plan

Represent and be a voting member of the ICWG (NIOP body) and OAM WG (OMS body)

Write CR’s as needed against NIOP, CCS and OMS (against the function or behavior)

Document all functional decompositions and CSCI allocations in the IARM (the modeling team develops the actual SysML but we tell them exactly what)

Review all CDRLs related to OA and the functional decomposition/allocation

Justify and write exceptions to the standards (e.g. non-OMS exchanges, bulk data transfers, etc)

New ICDs as required

 

Education

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience
